Tribes is operated by Latin Dance Tribes, registered in the Netherlands (KvK: 54992060, BTW: NL851519945B01). We are the data controller for personal data processed through this platform.

Data you provide: name, email address, profile information (bio, avatar, dance styles), and payment details when you register or subscribe to creators.

Data collected automatically: usage data, device information, IP addresses, browser type, and session data to operate and improve the platform.

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — to provide your account, process subscriptions and payments.
• Legitimate interest — to detect fraud, ensure platform security, and improve our service.
• Consent — for optional notifications and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation — to retain transaction records for tax and financial compliance.

Your data is used to operate and improve Tribes, process transactions, send notifications you have opted into, provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymised, aggregated data for analytics purposes.

To operate the platform we share data with the following trusted third-party processors:

• Stripe — payment processing (USA/EU). All card data is handled directly by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
• Mollie — alternative payment processing (Netherlands).
• Base44 — application hosting and database infrastructure.

All sub-processors are contractually bound to process data only on our instructions and in compliance with GDPR.

Content you upload remains yours. By posting on Tribes you grant us a limited license to display and distribute your content to your subscribers for the purpose of operating the platform.

Subscriber lists, earnings, and engagement data are private to each creator and are never shared with other users.

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and remember preferences. We only place non-essential cookies with your explicit consent via our cookie consent mechanism.

You can withdraw consent or manage cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or our consent tool.

Some of our sub-processors (including Stripe) may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Financial transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with Dutch tax law. Upon account deletion all other personal data is erased within 30 days.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no system is completely secure and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

As a data subject under GDPR you have the following rights:

• Right of access — request a copy of data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Right to restrict processing — request we limit how we use your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email latindancetribes@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
